Oona, 3 feeding Joshim, 1 some pancit canton
Ate means "big sister" in Tagalog, our spoken dialect in Manila. Oona loves being Ate to Joshim, feeding him, putting the blanket on him, singing him lullabies.
The other day she tells me: Mom, I love playing with Joshim because he's so soft.
I smiled. I am still smiling at the recollection and my heart softens even more.
